The vineyard of Fixin is fully exposed to the east. Soils are mainly limestone with traces of bajocian marl. This wine will be perfect with white meat like chicken, veal or sweetbread. Located between Marsannay and Gevrey-Chambertin, the Fixin appellation takes its name from the Latin Fiscinum and Fiscinus, according to the ninth century Acts of the bishopric of Langres. Numerous remains found in the area attest to Roman occupation. The Dukes had their summer residence here. Fixey originally belong to the St Benignus abbey of Dijon.
