Lagavulin Single Malt Scotch Whisky 16 year old
|Category||Single Malt Scotch|
|Region||United Kingdom, Scotland, Islay|
Deep amber gold. Intensely flavoured, peat smoke with iodine and seaweed and a rich, deep sweetness. Full, rich bodied. Dry peat smoke fills the palate with a gentle but strong sweetness, followed by sea and salt with touches of wood. A long, elegant peat-filled finish with lots of salt and seaweed. Best enjoyed from a traditional whisky glass, neat or with a little still water. Room-temperature water can bring out the hidden aromas and flavours of the whisky, making it more mellow and easy to drink.
Best Buy. Soy sauce, olive brine, peat, honey, oloroso Sherry, brewer's yeast, bread dough, barley malt and cigar smoke in the bouquet. The flavor that magically includes the innate intense peatiness of Islay malts and the masterly employment of oak barrels phase defines "classy Islay." Concludes sweetly, without sacrificing the tangy, astringent peatiness that is inherent. Gorgeous.
