A dynamic blend, combining deep structure with finesse and polish, this features black cherry and cassis flavors laced with toasty spice, red licorice and a hint of dusty herbs as it builds tension toward refined tannins. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2030. 1,150 cases made.

The 2019 Proprietary Red Oakcross checks in as 49% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot. It's a plush, medium to full-bodied, juicy, almost racy red that offers impressive blueberry and macerated cherry-like fruit mixed with plenty of spice and chocolate notes. It's a terrific blend to drink over the coming decade or so.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakcross Proprietary Red is quite closed in this tasting. I don't see the richness or generosity of the 2018. It will be interesting to see if the 2019 opens with time in bottle. Today it is compact and hard to read.
